Don’t miss the upcoming Reykjavík Fashion Festival at Harpa from 23-25 March!
The Reykjavík Fashion Festival is back for 2017 and we couldn’t be more thrilled. After taking a year off in 2016, the festival has returned to claim its well-deserved title as the crowning event of March – a month dedicated to design, creativity and innovation. As you can see in their groovy new teaser trailer (posted below), the event, which is proudly sponsored by Icelandair, will showcase a number of talented Icelandic designers including Magnea, Myrka, Aníta Hirlekar, Another Creation, Cintamani, Ýr and Inklaw.
For their 7th sensational episode in fashion entertainment, the 2017 edition of the Reykjavík Fashion Festival will be celebrating the forces of nature and supporting designers who prioritise sustainability. They will also be placing a firm emphasis on encouraging more conscientious decisions in the fashion industry. For this reason, the festival has adopted ‘ROK‘ as a theme-word which means ‘gale’ or ‘strong wind’ in Icelandic – something anyone who has been to Iceland can identify with.
If you happen to be visiting Iceland that week and are curious about Icelandic fashion, you’ll be pleased to know that there’s a limited number of tickets available: weekend passes cost 12.990 ISK ($120/￡98) and provide access to all the shows. Day passes cost 6.990 ISK ($65/￡50). It’s definitely worth noting that the networking possibilities of RFF are priceless. The event attracts a number of high-profile international fashion names and gets lots of media attention too.
