Step back in time at the biggest annual Viking Festival in Iceland!
There are lots of fabulous events coming up soon at the annual family Viking Festival with demonstration battles, archery, axe-throwing and live music on offer as well as the traditional medieval-age markets. There’s plenty of entertainment for everyone with lots of fun activities for the kids, too. This particular event is the oldest in Iceland and has been celebrated since 1995. The festival also provides an authentic stage for visiting Vikings who have been known to travel from as far as Europe and America to celebrate Viking culture in Iceland.
Taking place from 15-18 June in Hafnarfjörður – one of the districts of Greater Reykjavík – admission costs 1,000 ISK ($10/￡7.50) per day for adults and 600 ($6/￡4.50) for children. There’s also a special Viking feast hosted at 20:00 on each evening from Friday 16th – Sunday 18th at the Fjörukráin restaurant. See you there!
