Reykjavik loves the silly walks!

In celebration of International Silly Walks Day – an annual event created to commemorate the famous Monty Python sketch starring John Cleese as a bowler hat wearing, silly walking, civil servant – Reykjavik installed its first Silly Walks crossing on Vonarstræti in the city centre over the weekend. Most of the preposterous prancing took place on 7th January during the official silly-walk event, with a comical parade of silly walkers led by Hrannar Jónsson from the Icelandic Mental Health Alliance together with a number of much-loved Icelandic comedians including the fabulous Edda Björgvinsdóttir.Silly walks silly walks
