Special anniversary air show celebrating 80 years of aviation in Iceland!
In celebration of the 80th anniversary of Icelandair and the National Aviation Society (Flugmálafélagið Íslands) a special air show will be hosted on Saturday 3rd June from 12 noon. There will be a variety of entertaining aerial acts showing the diversity of Icelandic aviation and an exhibition of passenger planes, helicopters, gliders, antique planes, jet engines, microlights and the country’s largest drone. Also, for the first time in the event’s history, there will be a Canadian F18 fighter jet.
Matthías Sveinbjörnss, president of the National Aviation Society, says it’s an honour to have the Canadian Airforce pay us a visit and their F18, which is set to fly by before landing at the airport and inviting guests to get a closer look.
A total of 30 aircraft will be presented at the show which is said to be the biggest in Icelandic history and the weather, according to meteorologists, is looking good!
WHERE: The exhibition area is located at the back of Icelandair Hotel Reykjavík Natura at Reykjavík Airport.
WHEN: Saturday 3rd June from 12 noon to 3 pm.
