We’ve just returned from a little late night walk around Reykjavik, where we were pleasantly surprised to discover the city hall all lit up in pink and blue and looking very pretty for the upcoming Reykjavik Winter Lights Festival 2013. This four-day festival, which starts tomorrow, or rather today (it’s already past midnight), celebrates the return of the sunlight as the days becomes longer and those polar nights shorter! So, if you’ve just arrived in town then you can look forward to a few days of fantastic (and free) events and exhibitions all over town. I just had a quick look at the program and I’m particularly looking forward to the opening ceremony at Austurvöllur where the talented Marcos Zotes will reveal his new light, sound and motion exhibition entitled “Pixel Cloud“. If you’re not familiar with his work, you can check out this video below of the impressive animations project he did here last year on Hallgrimskirkja church. Enjoy
