Snowfall in Reykjavík reaches record-breaking proportions!

An extraordinary amount of snow fell in Reykjavík last night with measurements reaching record-breaking proportions. The snow depth recorded this morning was a whopping 51 cm, which is the deepest on record for the month of February and 3 cm deeper than the previous record from 1952 when 48 cm of snow fell. Although the conditions for driving might not be great at the moment, the sun is now shining and with all that delightful, freshly-fallen, white powder the conditions for fun are perfect! Here are some photos we took earlier today during a bumpy bus ride through downtown Reykjavík.
